About the Artist

Dennis Dame was born in 1965, in Simi Valley, California. Moving with his family to Myrtle Creek, Oregon at age five, it was there that his appreciation  for the outdoors and wildlife began.  With an accomplished artist for a father, (Jerry Dame Sr.), as well as a creative mother, Dennis's childhood was surrounded by art and creativity.  “Growing up around art and painting was a blessing that I did not fully appreciate until I left home.  I sometimes took it for granted. For as long as I can remember, art was a part of our family - a way of life.”  It wasn’t until Dennis left home to pursue a career in aviation that the “artist” bug really bit.  “I began selling a few aviation themed paintings to help pay my way through flight school; I was having a ball doing it and became addicted!”  For over twenty years now, Dennis has continued on his artistic journey.  “Some folks may be surprised to learn that I enjoy painting now even more than when I first began, but, it’s the chance to make a new discovery with every painting that I love, and it never seems to end!”

The artistic pursuits of Dennis have led him to many fascinating art projects. Featured in various magazines, newspaper articles, and even on the HGTV network, Dennis, along with his Father (Jerry Sr.) and brother (Jerry Jr.) are perhaps best known for painting the beautiful airbrushed murals on the backs of the Safari Motorcoaches. If you have ever seen a luxury motorcoach traveling down the highway with a beautiful mural of tigers, lions, or any number of wildlife scenes, chances are it was painted by one of the Dame family.
